Security Risk Assessment on Office 365 Cloud Services
  • ITSO, with support from our Cybersecurity consultant, has conducted Risk assessment on the Microsoft Office 365 Cloud Platform. Observations and conclusions were drawn:
    • the cybersecurity measures and protection imposed by Microsoft on their cloud platform are at a very high standard and it meets our stringent requirements
    • the platform is also granted many key industry standard security certifications and it meets most compliance requirements
    • the privacy protection is strong
    • the O365 cloud platform is widely used by many renowned tertiary institutions and Fortune 500 companies
  • The Microsoft O365 service is hosted at a data center located in Hong Kong.  ITSO has paid a visit to the center to examine the security.
  • ITSO has negotiated additional contractual terms with Microsoft for added protection of the security and privacy of your data on this cloud based service.
  • ITSO concluded that this Microsoft cloud platform could be used for conducting critical HKUST business that involves high-risk data
