Dear Faculty Members and SuperPOD Users,
HKUST SuperPOD offers powerful computational resources that help HKUST researchers strengthen their research. Regular reviews ensure these resources are allocated efficiently, so researchers can leverage this advanced computing infrastructure in their projects.
Given the continued high utilization of the SuperPOD systems, the following changes will be implemented.
-
The subsidy rates are adjusted to 60% for pay-as-you-go users and 70% for node reservations. For details, please visit, Charging for Use of HKUST SuperPOD
-
The guaranteed execution window for the preemptable partition is extended to one hour in order to optimize the use of idle resources on reserved nodes. For details, please visit, Slurm Partition and Resource Quota.
The new arrangements will be effective from 1 Jan, 2026 (12:00 am) to 30 Jun, 2026 (12:00 midnight). Principal Investigators (PIs) with current subsidy applications will automatically transition to the updated subsidy scheme without needing to reapply. New PIs who would like to start using SuperPOD can apply for accounts and subsidies by visiting the respective webpages.
We sincerely appreciate your ongoing support. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at spodsupport@ust.hk.
