Setting up Apple macOS Device to Access CSL Wi-Fi Service

This page provides sample instructions for HKUST Staff & Students to set up Apple macOS devices to connect to CSL Wi-Fi Service.

Configure and Access CSL Wi-Fi Service

Step 1: Bring Up Wireless Network Connection Menu

  1. Click AirPort icon at the top-right corner of the screen

  2. Select Turn AirPort On

  3. Select Universities via CSL

Step 2: Enter User Name and Password

  1. Enter your HKUST Account with "@ust.hk" or "@connect.ust.hk" in Username field

  2. Enter your HKUST Account Password in Password field

  3. Click Join

Step 3: Verify Certificate

  1. Click Show Certificate

    ...

  2. Make sure Thawte TLS RSA CA G1 and wireless.ust.hk are shown

  3. Click Details

  4. Make sure Fingerprints > SHA-1 is D1 4D 65 C6 A3 DD D1 EF 66 26 33 40 48 A3 94 BC 39 E1 6A 07

  5. Click Continue

Congratulations! You have connected to CSL Wi-Fi Service!
