HKUST adapts Drupal platform for building departmental and administrative websites. It offers a secure and customizable framework suitable for units looking to establish a web presence that aligns with university branding and standards. Currently over 260 websites are managed under the HKUST Drupal platform.
The HKUST Website Builder is a tool developed collaboratively by the Information Technology Services Office (ITSO) and the Media Technology & Publishing Center (MTPC), for department fast building of their website in accordance to the pre-defined Drupal templates. The Website Builder does not require intensive technical expertise, while MTPC supports departments through the Website Builder interface, streamlining the site creation process. For more advanced features or site customization, departments may need to engage technical resources in addition.

- Access Drupal Platform: Once approved and the website is set up, authorized editors can log on to the website using their CAS credentials to begin site setup and content editing.
All sites hosted on Drupal adhere to HKUST’s data-security policies. The platform is CAS-enabled, and access is managed via site owner of the departments. Departments are responsible for ensuring that any data collected or published complies with university guidelines and legal requirements, including those relating to personal information.
