Q1: How long after graduation can students access their OneDrive to save files before losing access?

Students typically have a grace period of four months after graduation to back up their OneDrive files. During this period, students can still access OneDrive. After the grace period, the HKUST Student Account will automatically convert to an HKUST Alumni Account, and OneDrive access will be revoked. Please refer to Alumni Account for more details.

Q2: What happens with email forwarding after the storage limit is reached?

Email forwarding cannot be set up properly once the storage limit is reached. Please ensure your mailbox has enough space before setting up email forwarding.

Please check the email storage for email housekeeping and follow the steps to enable Email Forwarding.

Q3: Will SharePoint and Teams storage also be reduced?

Q5: How to clean up the Recycle Bin to free up OneDrive space?

Steps to Clean Recycle Bin

Go to Recycle Bin and then Click Empty recycle bin

After that, the file will be deleted and move to Second-stage recycle bin.

Follow below to go to Second-stage recycle bin

Once you click Empty recycle bin, the files will be deleted permanently.

Normally, the storage space will update within a few hours.
