In supporting the development of HKUST Sustainable Smart Campus, an IoT Network Services is available for Students and Researchers at HKUST Campus to experiment with IoT devices, smart applications and real-time data analytics, and provides a robust and secure “sensor to insight” platform.

The IoT Network Service is based on the LoRaWAN (Low-power, Long-range Wide Area Network) communication technology that uses the unlicensed spectrum (in the H.K., the 923MHz band).  ITSO has installed multiple Indoor and Outdoor LoRaWAN Gateways to provide network coverage across whole Campus.
