Campus Radio Frequency Usage
  • LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network): Operating on the AS923 frequency in Hong Kong, LoRaWAN supports Internet of Things (IoT) applications such as environmental monitoring, smart lighting, and asset tracking due to its low power, long-range communication capabilities.
  • Wi-Fi: Provides wireless internet on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands with the addition of the 6 GHz band for Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7, enabling higher throughput, lower latency, and better performance in congested environments.
  • Wireless Microphones: Wireless microphones are essential for clear communication during lectures, presentations, and performances in various venues like lecture halls and auditoriums.
  • Mobile 4G / 5G: Operating across multiple frequency bands including millimeter wave providing broad campus coverage with good indoor penetration as well as high-speed, low-latency connectivity for advanced applications.
