Upon successfully completing graduation/course requirements as determined by the Academic Registry Office (ARO), your HKUST Student Account (@connect.ust.hk) will automatically transition to an HKUST Alumni Account after a four-month grace period. Graduates can use their HKUST Account to apply for an Alumni eCard and gain access to library services, sports facilities, WiFi on campus, and more. Please click here for more details.
Due to the global storage reduction in the Microsoft 365 Education Storage Policy, Alumni Email Mailboxes will be adjusted to 2 GB, and OneDrive services will be terminated. Please back up your OneDrive contents, as they will not be recoverable after termination.

Important Updates for Alumni Account
Please note the following changes in Microsoft Office 365 services entitlement after a four-month grace period:
- Email quota will be adjusted to 2 GB.
- Auto Email Archiving will be enabled. This means that emails older than 1 month will be automatically moved to the Archive Mailbox, which has a 50 GB storage quota. Emails in the Archive Mailbox will not count towards your email quota and will remain accessible in Outlook.
- Deleted emails older than 30 days will be permanently removed.
Please consider forwarding all your emails to your personal account for easier management. Ensure your mailbox has enough space before setting up email forwarding. Refer to the Email Forwarding guide for detailed instructions.
OneDrive

OneDrive access will be revoked. Consequently, all data in your OneDrive will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Please clean up your OneDrive as much as possible, and transfer important data to external drives or personal cloud services like Google Drive or Dropbox as soon as possible.
Microsoft 365 Online Apps
- Online Excel, Word, and PowerPoint that require OneDrive storage will no longer be usable, but Outlook will remain accessible.
