5G Coverage in HKUST

ITSO is constructing an Indoor 5G network on the campus in order to:

  • facilitate the research and development of AI, AR/VR, IoT and Robotics Applications that rely on high data rate and ultra-low latency of 5G technology
  • improve the 4G Indoor coverage in HKUST Campus

Phase 1 installation will be completed by October 2021 which covers library, and public areas / teaching venues in academic building.
