The Smart Door Access Control System (SDACS) and Smart Door Panels aim to enhance the physical security control of restricted area within the HKUST Clear Water Bay campus. The system leverage a combination of modern security dimensions while offering convenience, flexibility, scalability and integration capability at the same time.

The new Smart Door panel will support the following types of authentication methods:
Effective September 2023, the Information Technology Services Office (ITSO) has initiated a project to upgrade the door panels at the Clear Water Bay campus. The current door panels are being replaced with the advanced Smart Door panels. To facilitate this transition, the ITSO staff will establish communication with individual Department / School IDLP. The replacement process will be coordinated and scheduled accordingly and plan for completion by Q4 of 2024.
HKUST QR Code app
The HKUST QR Code is a tool designed for HKUST members and affiliated person to generate secure, dynamic and personalized QR codes that can be used to gain physical access to HKUST Smartdoor System controlled locations.
